“Not going to lie when my teen son said he wanted to take up tennis and asked me to do lessons with him I was dreading it but like a good mom I agreed. Thought it would be difficult and maybe a bit embarrassing to suck as much as I figured I would. Turns out if you have a positive coach like Rhonda it's actually fun even when you aren't a naturally gifted tennis player! Highly recommend!”

“Cannot recommend Rhonda enough!! As someone who was just getting back into tennis, her liveball sessions were the perfect Sunday activity. She goes out of her way to help you improve your game and answer questions while making the sessions fun for everyone. Rhonda also restrung some very old rackets for me and did an incredible job making them both usable again!”

As an adult beginner, I was looking for a good coach that could offer solid, fundamental instruction to develop good technique and habits. Thankfully, I found Rhonda, who offers great group classes to learn the game of tennis.

As I progressed through her red ball and orange ball classes, her coaching helped me improve enough to join her live ball sessions. These sessions bring together a great group of people, who look to have fun while also take part in some friendly competition.
Everyone is super encouraging, which makes for an awesome environment to play with people of different skill levels.

Additionally, when I wanted to invest in a good racket, Rhonda allowed me to try out a few different models of Wilson rackets during the classes. I ended up purchasing a Pro Staff through her, which was great because it came at a really good discount with all the desired specifications I wanted. She also offers quick turnarounds for restringing and regripping rackets.

Overall, Rhonda is awesome and I would highly recommend her as a tennis instructor!”

“Rhonda is an incredible adult tennis coach!!! I took 3 sessions of Adult Tennis with Rhonda in Manhattan Beach. She is so positive, motivational and professional. The tennis drills and lessons she taught really improved my skills in tennis. She is able to provide 1 on 1 tips to improve while in a group setting- she also does this in such a positive very effective way! She was engaging and brought a lot of fun into the lessons. She was great with a a large group of 8 as well as a smaller group of 4 . I am looking forward to taking more lessons with her. She really helped improve my tennis game! Now I play weekly and am hooked!”

“Rhonda is absolutely amazing. Super positive teacher. She takes time to tell you what you are doing wrong and what you should change to improve, even in a group setups. The pointers/tips are really good and I have seen significant progress in my game. She also strings/grips rackets. She has always done a great job with mine, over the past year. Whether multifilament or mono, she has both and will re-string your racket very fast. Rhonda, thanks for everything. You rock!”

"Rhonda expertly restrung and regripped two rackets (and resized one of my grips to make it bigger) for a great price and quick turnaround. Friendly and professional service. She also offered contactless service so it was Covid safe. Bonus, she filmed stringing my rackets, just for fun, because I expressed interest in the process!"

“I have been a student in Rhonda's adult group tennis lessons for the past year in Manhattan Beach. She is a great coach, has a great personality, and my game is improving with her coaching. I was a varsity tennis player in high school, and I would recommend her to beginners or advanced players looking to improve.

"I've been selfish choosing not to write a review but I think it's time. For a fixed monthly fee, Rhonda has been my coach for an unlimited amount of time on the court since Feb 2016. She's not only a great and knowledgeable coach, but a lot of fun too!"

"I grew up playing tennis but over the years I gave up on it. Recently, I decided that I wanted to get back into it but I was extremely rusty. I ended up finding Rhonda on Yelp and taking lessons with her was one of the best decisions I ever made.

In just 4 lessons, I am back playing tennis the way I was accustomed to. Rhonda is a fabulous instructor. She is patient, kind and really is knowledgeable about the sport. It’s remarkable thinking about the progression I made every time I stepped onto the court with her, and all the credit really does go to her.

Whether you are a complete beginner or a college level player, Rhonda will improve your game in ways you couldn't imagine was possible."

"My 9-year-old son has been taking tennis lessons from Coach Rhonda for over 2 years. She is an amazing coach, and I really appreciate the way she worked with him to teach him proper technique.

To be perfectly honest, my son is not exactly the world's best athlete. In the beginning, he lacked balance, strength, and coordination -- probably the three most important things you need for tennis! He could hardly hold up a tennis racket properly, and he would often fall down doing simple agility drills.

But Rhonda was super patient with him, and kept pushing his limits, stretching him to become better than he was the last week. She introduced skills (e.g. volleys, slices) that I thought would be way too advanced for him. But in time, she always managed to get him to a point of competency with everything.

I can't think of a better teacher for my son. While he may not become Roger Federer, I think his time with Rhonda will allow him to play tennis (at a relatively high level) for the rest of his life. And that's perfect for us."

"Over the years I have worked with a number of tennis pros. Rhonda is by far the best. She puts the fun back in learning with her unique approach to the different strokes and the ability to adjust her methods to suit your style of learning. For me, at age 68, the thing I appreciate most is her ability to see when it's time for working on style and when it's time to just hit the ball for a while and enjoy the game. I would recommend her to anyone at any age or level of ability."

"After playing tennis from childhood through high school, I stopped playing for many years. When I started playing again, I could barely hit the ball—and then a miracle occurred: I found Rhonda. She gave me exactly the kind of guidance I needed to overhaul my whole game, particularly an embarrassing “chicken wing” forehand, and within ten lessons, I felt much more at ease on the court and have continued to experience lasting positive effects from her coaching, even now that our lessons have ended, thanks to her many easy-to-remember tips that echo in my head every time I play. Best of all, Rhonda is just a wonderful person. I wish I could play with her every day. I truly can’t recommend her highlight enough."

"Rhonda is a great tennis instructor. She was teaching some of my family members, when I joined in, making it a group of six people of varying abilities. Although I played tennis quite often years ago, I never learned proper form. Rhonda handled the six of us beautifully. She is a relaxed, professional instructor who keeps it fun while still being able to focus on teaching and encouraging improvement. It would be easy for me to continue hitting the ball by sheer luck, but she has a way of gently but convincingly getting me to want to break the bad habits that are so ingrained in my strokes and footwork. That's no easy feat!

We started with hour-long classes but, that was too short. Now, our two-hour class flies by and we all see improvement in ourselves. Rhonda has been organized, has brought racquets for us to try and to use, makes good use of the entire class time, and keeps us wanting more!"

"I used to take tennis lessons when I was about 10 years old, but after about 12 years without playing, I finally decided to get back into it. I met with a male instructor hoping I would be able to naturally pick back up where I left off as a 10 year old, but boy was I wrong! After 50 minutes on the court working only on forehand strokes, I was more confused and discouraged in my ability than before the lesson. I left that day disappointed with myself and I wasn't looking forward to playing tennis again. After canceling my next lesson, I decided I should try another instructor before giving up on the game...SO HAPPY I did!

I've had 7 lessons with Rhonda since and now I LOVE TENNIS! I am always looking forward to my next lesson because results come fast with Rhonda!  She is always extremely encouraging and positive throughout our lessons, which helps me play better and stay confident! She definitely is proud of her students, and that allows us to be proud of ourselves. This experience really helped me understand how important it is to find a good instructor. I feel so lucky to have found Rhonda as my Tennis teacher and I highly recommend getting in contact with her if you're looking for an Instructor! She is great at teaching the basics, and I look forward to advancing my skills with her!"

"We found her here on Yelp and the reviews were very positive. Turns out they were right. My 10-year-old daughter gets frustrated easily if she's not great at something, so I was thinking it's a long shot that she would even like tennis. I had hit with her a couple times and I saw her getting frustrated and wanting to give up. I suggested we try a real lesson and my daughter said she'd give it a try. Ten minutes into her first lesson with Rhonda, I knew we had found the perfect teacher. She has an easy rapport with my daughter and keeps everything positive. She has just the right mix of challenges and reinforcements. My daughter shows real progress week-to-week and she looks forward to the lessons. She loves Rhonda. What more can you ask for?"

"Rhonda likes very much what she does and that makes a real difference. She's a professional that not only has the knowledge but also cares. I'm a 52 year old student that hadn't play tennis in 20 years. Getting back to a sport is never easy but Rhonda made it enjoyable and fun. She has an open mind and not only teaches but patiently listens. Highly recommended."

"I'll highly recommend Rhonda, no matter you are a beginner or a veteran in tennis. As an adult, I started working with Rhonda with [zero] experience, and have been enjoying tennis very much.

In my first class, I didn't have a racquet. Rhonda generously lent me hers for free, which was very helpful. Because she let me try out several of her racquets with different weight distributions so I could decide which one fits me the best. This was very helpful not only solving my problem of not having a racquet at the beginning, but also providing valuable information on my own racquet purchase.

During all the classes, Rhonda is very patient, observant, and good at explaining what I did correctly and where I should be paying attention to - she really goes for what is best for the students.

Again, highly recommend Rhonda. Looking forward to working with her in 2016!"

"Tennis is one of those sports that look extremely easy to learn but it isn't, unless you have an effective teacher. And I know that as good of a professional someone may be at something, they may not be a great teacher of others. Rhonda is a professional AND an outstanding teacher which is why she produces such quick results with me.  As an adult in my 30's, I've tried a small handful of coaches and Rhonda is one of the best. She is lightning-fast-effective compared to other coaches. For instance, when I tell her what I want to achieve by the end of each lesson (like a specific tennis stroke) I can literally see and fully understand the improvements she produces in me. Her kinda quality teaching goes a long way because it sticks!

The only reason I'm taking a star off is because my budget cannot afford her tennis expertise and I know that that's my own issue. Were it not for the rate she charges I would be able to continue, but at the same time I understand that her time and quality of coaching is in demand. I wish I could find a coach like Rhonda but a bit cheaper within my price range."

"I have taken six lessons with Rhonda so far, and she has really helped me progress a lot. At the beginning, I was nervous about learning a new sport at the age of 22, especially one that required more precision and technique. My experience with Rhonda has been very helpful, however, and I've watched both my skill level and enjoyment of the sport drastically improve. Rhonda is great at teaching because she is a patient coach who makes good observations of her students and explains not only what they need to improve (as many coaches do) but also why and how, so that her students have a better understanding of how to progress with the sport."

"I played some tennis in high school many years ago but wanted to pick it up again for some regular exercise a couple of years ago. I hate the gym!! Rhonda is an excellent and motivating instructor. She teaches and reinforces great techniques and skills. I play in a semi-private group with 5 other adults and we have such a great time on the court. I really appreciate her patience and her experience. I love how she takes the time to explain the fundamentals but also keeps the lessons fun and engaging! Rhonda is an awesome coach and I would highly recommend her no matter your level of tennis experience or age."
